In Nov 2024, the client experienced a catastrophic breakdown that involved the loss of 4nos 250kW Siemens sinamics S150 drives at their first and longest serving sugar processing facility and was considering an outright replacement until we got contacted to assess the situation. After a detailed assessment and troubleshooting to identify the faulty condition and possibility to salvage the situation, our technical team successfully carried out the complete refurbishment and commissioning and handover of all 4nos damaged units with a 6–12-month comprehensive warranty.  The project included;

• Preliminary assessment and troubleshooting of fault condition-site service
• Complete stripping down of each faulty unit to identify compromised parts as well as parts were likely to fail – workshop service.
• Replacement of all faulty parts including IGBT modules, driver boards, and preventive maintenance kits with original Siemens spares.
• Reassembly of sets of power blocks and workshop simulation with test rigs both on and off load conditions.
• Final testing and commissioning
• Site acceptance by the client's In-house electrical engineers

The work was completed within schedule, and the drive system was fully restored to operational condition with optimized performance.
