The client is into providing support activities for mining and oil drilling including building barges and medium size vessels for shipping support services. They contacted us to provide Control panels for their vessels which are being built from scratch at their HM shipyard at Kwale. The scope involved electrical panel design, fabrication, supply, installation and site commissioning on more than 10 different vessels. The scope was fully executed by out in-house specialist including days spent onboard each vessel at the shipyard for final acceptance test by the vessel’s technical crew. The project included;

• Complete stripping down of each faulty unit to identify compromised parts as well as parts were likely to fail – workshop service.
• Design of electrical panel according to client scope.
• Panel fabrication, control system and VFD setup, and cable termination
• Work shop testing
• Vessel Installation.
• Final testing and commissioning
• Site/Vessel acceptance by Client’s in-house crew/electrical engineers

The work was completed within schedule, and the Control system was fully tested/commissioned and handed over to vessel crew in good working condition.
