As part of our passion for technical excellence and professional development, TekniTeed NG recently hosted a high-impact technical training session on IEC Low Voltage (LV) Motors, facilitated by a team from ABB, a global leader in motion and automation technologies.
The training, held on-site and supported by virtual participation, was led by Mr. Karim Hassan, Motion Business – Product Marketing Manager, Egypt, North & Central Africa. Mr. Hassan brought with him a wealth of expertise and practical insights into ABB’s range of LV motors and software tools designed to enhance motor selection, performance, and energy efficiency.
Key Training Highlights
During his session, Mr. Hassan introduced participants to the four primary families of ABB Motors, outlining their unique features, performance strengths, and application suitability:
- Process Performance Motors – Designed for demanding industrial processes requiring high efficiency, reliability, and robustness.
- General Performance Motors – Ideal for standard applications, offering cost-effective solutions with consistent quality and efficiency.
- Motors for Explosive Atmospheres – Engineered to meet global safety standards for hazardous environments.
- Industrial/Application-Specific Motors – Tailored for unique operating conditions such as marine, mining, or HVAC systems.
In addition, the team was introduced to two of ABB’s industry-leading software tools:
- MotSize – A user-friendly software for optimal motor and drive selection.
- Optimizer – Designed to analyze and enhance energy efficiency in motor-driven systems, supporting data-driven decision-making in equipment upgrades and installations.
